The Pacers (at least in name) play organized basketball today! They are kicking off the Summer League season with a matchup against their Central Division rivals, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

I'm sure we're all excited to get a first look at rookies Kam Jones and Taelon Peter. Personally, I'd love to see second year guys Johnny Furphy and Enrique Freeman look like men among boys in Vegas.

I'm sure the game will be somewhat of an eyesore but that's part of the charm.

Free Agency Updates

We've had a bit of roster movement since my last post. The team has officially signed Kam Jones and James Wiseman to the regular roster and Quinton Jackson to a one-year Two-Way contract.

Despite rewarding Jones with a four-year deal, Tony East reports that it's extremely team friendly and the amount of guaranteed money is less than you'd normally expect for someone taken at the top of the second round.

Pacers Sign Rookie Kam Jones To Unique Four-Year Standard Contract
The Indiana Pacers signed rookie guard Kam Jones to a team-friendly four-year contract, and it is unique compared to some other first-year players.

East also reports that the team is $13.6M shy of the luxury tax, with Isaiah Jackson still unsigned. Keep an eye on that space.
