In a gut-wrenching 111-104 loss on Friday, the Indiana Pacers squandered a golden opportunity to seize a 3-1 lead. Even after carrying a seven-point lead into the final quarter, they wilted under pressure and now find themselves in a best-of-three series with the Thunder owning home-court advantage.
Shai Gilgeous‑Alexander exploded for 15 of his 35 points in the last 4:38, engineering a decisive 16-7 run that snatched momentum away from the home-team. Thunder bench players—Jalen Williams (27 pts), Alex Caruso (20), and Chet Holmgren (14 pts, 15 rebs)— all contributed to the larceny.
Meanwhile, the Pacers collapsed: their offense froze, shooting just 27.8% from the floor in the final quarter (0-8 from deep) and committing three costly turnovers. We can be as upset as we'd like about the officiating, but the Pacers were simply not up to the task of closing out the Thunder.
But, hey, this team has rallied from daunting deficits all postseason. They may have faltered in Game 4, but their comeback-DNA is bona-fide. Write their obituary at your own risk. A win tonight puts the momentum squarely back in our favor.
