The Pacers have officially seized momentum in the series. Game 3 was a wild, spirited comeback by Indiana in front of a roaring home crowd, giving the Pacers a 116-107 victory and a 2-1 lead in the NBA Finals.
Bennedict Mathurin exploded off the bench, pouring in 27 points on 9-of-12 shooting, the third-highest reserve scoring night in Finals history.
Tyrese Haliburton flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 22 points, 11 assists, and 9 rebounds, infusing energy and control on both ends. Meanwhile, TJ McConnell post a Finals-first stat line of 10 points, 5 assists, and 5 momentum-swinging steals.
Indiana’s reserves outscored OKC’s bench 49-18, while the Pacers shot 51.8%, dominating the second (40-28) and fourth quarters (32-18). The refs allowed the players to be very physical last game and I believe that favored the home team greatly.
The Thunder—despite Shai Gilgeous‑Alexander’s 24 points—struggled down the stretch, shooting just 35% in the fourth and committing 17 turnovers.
Notably, Indiana has won all ten games after a loss since mid‑March—an astonishing display of the team's signature resilience.
It's worth repeating that the crowd during Game 3 was simply raucous. If the team gives the Indy locals something to cheer about tonight, we could see them tear the roof off of Gainbridge. Maybe it's just me, but I think a convertible arena sounds kind of nice.
