The 2025-26 NBA Season officially opens tonight with the Rockets playing the Thunder and the Warriors playing the Lakers.

Time flies, doesn't it? Well, it does when your team plays until the final possible day of the season at least.

To celebrate, we have two varieties of competitions, some good contract news, and a bit of tabloid journalism.

Final Quiz Round

The long-overdue finale to our Pacers Trivia Competition is here. There's been some separation in the standings but this final round will be decisive.

I've also decided to change the correct answer to the question about first round exits from 6 to 5 given that the 6th exit occurred in 2020 and not the '10s. Luckily that did not dock anybody a point but did give a few people an extra bump.

Aaron Nesmith Extension

Aaron Nesmith has continued his trend of getting contract negotiations out of the way so that he can focus on basketball. He just inked an extension that will keep him in Indy for an extra two years. That means that Tyrese Haliburton, Andrew Nembhard, Aaron Nesmith, and Pascal Siakam are all under team control for another three seasons. Good news for a core that just beat everybody in front of them while healthy.

Unlike Nesmith, Bennedict Mathurin did not sign a deal, meaning that he will hit RFA in the offseason. I think this makes sense for both sides, seeing as this is a prove it year for Benn with Tyrese out.

Kam Jones Arrest

Kam Jones was arrested for, apparently, speeding so that he wouldn't be late to practice. The initial reports suggested that he led the police on a small chase but based on the video below, it appears to be much ado about nothing.
