History has a way of repeating itself. From Reggie pointing to Hali skipping. From Spike yelling to Chalemet cheering.
Tonight, the Indiana Pacers and the New York Knicks continue one of the NBA’s most storied rivalries in the NBA. The Eastern Conference Finals is a matchup loaded with history, swagger, and no shortage of bad blood. Tyrese Haliburton vs. Jalen Brunson are now the faces of their franchises — two floor generals who couldn’t play more different, but who carry the same burden: bring your city back to the Finals.
The Pacers haven’t been to the Finals since 2000 but it feels like Tyrese has as good of a chance as any other Pacer since the team joined the NBA. He’s flanked by a champion in Pascal Siakam, a resurgent Myles Turner, and a bench that can play with anybody. After sending Giannis and the Bucks home and outlasting the Cavs in five, the Pacers come in battle-tested and playing their best ball of the year (as long as the wait between rounds didn't dampen their momentum).
🎯 Keys to Game 1
- Haliburton vs. Brunson: A duel of tempo vs. toughness. Whoever imposes their will early could set the tone for the series.
- Bench Impact: Indiana’s depth has been a weapon. New York’s has been patchwork, but they've come through when needed. Who blinks first?
- The Garden Effect: MSG will be electric. The question is whether it rattles or fuels the Pacers’ young core.
