A rematch with the Spurs is the final contest of the pre-season. The Blue & Gold are down in San Antonio tonight, looking for revenge after losing the last contest.
Other than injuries to Pacers guards, the attempt to replace Myles Turner with a committee of career backups has been the storyline of the preseason. That group was put to the test against Victor Wembanyama last game and they did not look up to the task. It's hard to blame them for being dominated by the future face of the league, but as they are all in an open competition for playing time, it would be great to see a better effort tonight.
We'll see how Carlisle adjusts if the centers can't hold their own. More small ball is the likely solution, though I fear a return to our defensive woes of years past if Obi is forced to play the majority of his minutes at the five.
Speaking of Carlisle, he won't be on the sideline tonight.
Coach Carlisle is not with the team in San Antonio tonight while attending a family function. Lloyd Pierce will serve as head coach in his place.

On the guard front, TJ McConnell and Kam Jones are still out, while Quenton Jackson (and forward Johnny Furphy) are questionable at the time of writing. On the positive side, Ben Sheppard is back in the fold tonight.
We'll have almost a full week off before the regular season opener on national TV against the Thunder, so it would be great for the team to go into the break with positive momentum and vibes.
