The pre-season continues to roll on and tonight we're matched up with Victor Wembanyama's San Antonio Spurs.
The Pacers sit at 2-0 after beating the Oklahoma City Thunder in their last game. Unfortunately, the victory came with a few more injuries, forcing the Pacers to turn to the deep bench.
Johnny Furphy (left ankle) and Quenton Jackson (right hamstring) are both out for tonight's game against the Spurs, per Coach Carlisle.

I hope that this season isn't marred by injuries. Even if the ceiling for this season is limited without Tyrese, I'd like to see whether or not the remaining guys can step into their new roles and play competitive basketball for an entire year.
Luckily, it appears Ben Sheppard is rounding into shape so we'll have one more rotation player from last year back in the fold soon.
Carlisle said Ben Sheppard is out for tonight. But said he's trending in a good direction and should be a full participant this week in practice and should be available for the final preseason game on Friday.

On the flip side, we got to see some encouraging performances out of the players who were available against OKC. Rookie Taleon Peter, for one, showed the moxie and activity that will make him a favorite of Carlisle's staff.

And Jarace Walker put in a very Jarace-y showing. He stuffed the stat sheet and reminded everyone that he has a very unique skill set if he can put it all together.
More teams need to play zone when Jarace is on the floor just so we can watch him make passes against zone. Not super conducive with this year's roster, but still convinced he could be a dynamite short-roll creator. Crushed making reads out of IND's flare slip zone buster. pic.twitter.com/K0zpWGWMML

We'll need the guys to show up again tonight, given that the Spurs will be starting their regular season lineup.
Mitch Johnson says the Spurs are going to go with their main guys tonight. So Stephon Castle and Victor Wembanyama are among those starting.
