Another day, another workout. Not nearly as exciting as yesterday's headliner, but we know that the Pacers like to do their homework early. As recently as a few months ago they acquired Jordan Nwora for next to nothing based in no small part on their evaluation of him pre-draft.
So who did they look at today?

Julian Strawther
The most notable name is Julian Strawther. A big time college producer at Gonzaga, Strawther will make his living spacing the floor. He shot over 40% from deep this past season and has the size and quick release to be a three-point specialist at the next level.
Where he'll struggle is on the defensive end. While he has the length to be an NBA wing, he lacks both the strength and the quickness to stay in front perimeter players. To his credit, he is competitive and takes his defensive assignment seriously. If he can make some gains in the weight room, he's the type of player who could figure out how to be a neutral defender.

Tosan Evbuomwan
The other player in this group who interests me is Tosan Evbuomwan out of Princeton. Like most of us, I first noticed Tosan during the Tigers' Sweet Sixteen run this March.
He's a 6'8'' forward with a 7'1.5'' wingspan who led the team in scoring and assists. The former is great but the latter is what makes him interesting. Perhaps it's watching Jokic – and to a lesser extent Sabonis – tear up the league but I love bigs who are excellent passers and Tosan is just that.
While he has good mobility and a decent face up game inside the arc, I don't have much confidence his scoring will translate to the NBA. He's not explosive and he's a poor shooter, both from three and the free throw line.
On the defensive side, I could see him turning into a smart positional defender, but he doesn't seem to have the foot speed to guard the perimeter at the next level.
At the same time, crafty players find a way, so I'm keeping an eye on him as a late second rounder or undrafted summer camp invite.
