NBA schedules are weird. More so these days now that the NBA Cup has thrown some additional complications into the mix. Normally, you don't play a team from the opposite conference three times in a year, much less before Jan. 1. However, that's exactly what's about to happen when the Pacers take on the New Orleans Pelicans this evening.

The teams have split the first two matchups. The first game was an offensive affair which saw New Orleans prevail despite being totally injured. The second game was sloppy and saw the Pacers emerge victorious.

Coming off a dominant performance in Philadelphia, perhaps the Pacers can play efficiently on both ends of the floor tonight and start stacking wins together.

Thomas Bryant

The trade is officially complete and Thomas Bryant will be available to play tonight.

I don't mean the quibble (but that's exactly what I'm going to do): is Thomas Bryant really "back in Indy?" Back in Indiana, sure, but Indy? I mean he's technically been to the city before but that caption reminds me of a friend of mine from Vermont who used to tell me about other people he knew from "Indy" who were invariably from Evansville or South Bend.

Anyway, Bryant is excited to "back in Indy" and that's good enough for me, I suppose.
