The Pacers are in Boston tonight for a rare nationally televised game. This is the fifth matchup of the season with the Celtics. As it stands, the series is even at 2-2. If the Pacers win tonight, they'll be the first team this year to win a season series with Boston.

As we know well, Boston is one of the best teams in the NBA. Over the past two weeks, they are 5-2. They win with a combination of stout defense and efficient offense. Top three in points per possession on both sides of the ball, they possess the best differential in the league.

Fortunately for the Pacers, Boston had a marathon game last night. We can hope Indy will face a team with tired legs. As is always the case, pushing the pace will be key.

James Johnson

James Johnson signed a second 10 day contract. The Pacers seem to be maintaining roster flexibility through the trade deadline. Once that passes, I expect James to be given a contract for the rest of the season.

Injuries

The big note is that Haliburton is back tonight but the move seems to be more about preserving his ability to get named to an All-NBA team than an indication that he is fully healthy. Expect him to play 15-20 mins then get the hook.

T.J. McConnell will miss his second straight game. He's come down with whatever his kid had that kept T.J. out of the Grizzlies matchup. Meanwhile, Bennedict Mathurin will sit with a toe injury. According to Carlisle, it shouldn't keep him out for long.

Additionally, Myles Turner and Jalen Smith are listed as questionable. We could see some Frankenstein units tonight depending on who suits up.

UPDATE: Turner and Smith are in.
