Last time the Pacers played in Brooklyn, the loss marked a four-game losing streak. Since then, the team has gone 9-4 and is looking like the team we expected to see coming into the season.

Speaking of living up to expectations, look no further than the face of the franchise, Tyrese Haliburton, who is again putting up the kind of ridiculous stats that earned him a max contract.

This year was always going to hinge on internal growth and I think we're starting to see that take place. Bennedict Mathurin, according to Carlisle at least, is starting to show that he can play within a team system and be a net positive while on the court.

We also need to give props to Myles Turner, whose shooting and rim protection are fundamental to the Pacers' resurgent success on both sides of the ball.

Brooklyn Nets

When we get to the injury section below, you'll understand why I say that the Nets should have no business winning this game. Even beyond player availability, the Nets are in a full on tank, more concerned with selling their assets than stacking wins. A few weeks ago Cam Johnson spoke about how that affects a locker room and the results have been visible on the court.

Though the Nets only have three wins in their last their thirteen games, the Pacers account for one of those rare joyous nights for Brooklyn fans. And wouldn't it just be the most Pacer thing in the world to overlook this game and lose to a team that is limping in all senses of the word?

Injuries

Oh yes, I almost forgot: the Nets could have a few as nine players available tonight.
