Not a whole lot is going the Pacers' way right now. Luckily, the NBA season doesn't provide much time to dwell on mistakes. Regardless of what happened last night (nothing good), the Pacers have an opportunity to atone in San Francisco.
We know the Warriors fairly well. Hell, they represent the 1 in our 1-8 record. Golden State is a pretty average team, despite its star power. They sit at 5-5 on the year and are in the middle of pack in points-per-possession on both sides of the ball.

Having said that, what good are stats when the both teams are missing their best players?
Golden State will be without Steph Curry, who is ill, while the Pacers will be missing Pascal Siakam and Aaron Nesmith. Indy didn't arrive at the hotel until after 1 AM local time last night and, as Caitlin details below, Siakam is being worked like a rented mule this season. It makes sense Carlisle is giving him a breather tonight. Nesmith has a "forearm contusion" but that sounds like a fancy way to say "rest" to me.
Pascal Siakam is averaging the most isolations per 100 possessions of his career, the most possessions doubled per game in his career, the highest usage rate of his career, and the most minutes per game since joining the Pacers. Not playing the second of b2b. https://t.co/pIwQbhv7rl

If the Pacers want to keep their clean slate at the Chase Center alive, they'll need Andrew Nembhard to go nuts tonight. Luckily, there is some precedent for that happening.
Injuries
Staring to feel like this doesn't need to be its own section. It's the main story these days.
