The Pacers are nearing rock bottom. They simply do not look like a team that play winning basketball for 48 minutes at the present moment in time. Hopefully they've touched the ocean floor and the rebound starts tonight.
They are playing at home against a 2-12 Wizards team. If there was ever an opportunity to "get right," you'd think this would be it. The Wizards are at the very bottom of the league in both offensive and defensive metrics. They don't even offensive rebound well. This is a game the Pacers need to win.

Call it a good omen, but Myles Turner certainly seems to be in high spirits, as he showed up to the game in full cosplay.

But Turner's spirits are secondary to those of the team's leader, Tyrese Haliburton. After the loss to the Bucks, Haliburton appeared to be on the verge of tears. He doesn't know why he's not playing well and it's clearly crushing him.

Sometimes, in the words of Robert Frost, "the only way out is through." Hopefully he starts to see a light at the end of the tunnel soon.
Injuries
Same ugly report as last game, effectively.

We did get an update on Sheppard, however. Carlisle used a riff on the notorious phrase he described TJ Warren's injury with back in 2021, making Pacers fans everywhere shudder.
"Weeks not days," Carlisle says of Ben Sheppard and his recovery timeline. He got an MRI that revealed he'll be out a little longer than he expected.
