The Pacers are back on the road tonight after taking down the Knicks at home last game out. As is often the case, playing the Knicks brought out the best in the Pacers stars. Specifically, Tyrese Haliburton and Bennedict Mathurin, who combined for 73 points.

Haliburton has been the subject of a lot of hand wringing lately but he rewarded those who kept faith. He was in absolute control down the stretch against the Knicks, making the right play over and over.

It will be no surprise to readers of this blog that Mathurin has been simply incandescent this season. It's easily the best basketball of his young career. Though his efficiency is likely unsustainable, it certainly feels like he's reached a new level as a player.

Let's not forget about the other Pacers starter who posted a bounce back game. Myles Turner, the once and future king of trade rumors, made his very large presence felt, especially from behind the arc.

Speaking of behind the arc, both sophomores are lighting it up from three this season. In the Pacers' pace and space offense, the ability to stretch the court is almost a prerequisite. Therefore, keeping those numbers up will go a long way for the youngins in maintaining their spots in the rotation.

Orlando Magic
Somehow, this is already the third matchup between the teams despite it only being November. The series currently stands at 1-1, meaning that whoever wins tonight will have the edge on taking the season series. As Tony East points out, it's never too early to start thinking about playoff seeding.
Somehow this is a thing on November 13, but since it’s round 3 of Pacers-Magic this season already tonight: could be an important postseason tiebreaker game for the Pacers today. Currently 1-1, next meeting is April 11, Magic have a decent chance of winning their division.

The Magic are on the second night of a back-to-back, so hopefully the Pacers can run them off the court.
As has been the case over the last few seasons, the two teams play opposite styles of basketball. The Pacers win games offensively, whereas the Magic win with defense and rebounding. Whoever manages to imprint its style onto the contest, will have the advantage.
