Woo, the Pacers got a win! It might have been against the worst team in the league and it might not have been the prettiest, but it sure was fun.

Moses Brown, a back-up's back-up's back-up, came in and changed the game early with his energy when Myles Turner got into foul trouble. Seeing Brown's contributions makes me a little upset that Wiseman went down so early because it's clear that if you are a 7-footer who can move in this offense, you are going to have plenty of opportunities to score.

Brown naturally got a podium appearance after the game and spoke about how welcoming his teammates have been.

It was also good to see Tyrese Haliburton break out of his slump. He made five three pointers and generally looked like he was having fun playing basketball again. Last year the team seemed to be fueled by joy, so tracking smiles maybe as predictive of a metric as anything in the analytics world when it comes to evaluating the Pacers.

Speaking of analytics. The Pacers get another friendly matchup at home tonight against the four-win Pelicans. As its record would suggest, New Orleans is near the bottom of the league in both offensive and defensive efficiency. However, it is a capable offensive rebounding team, which should strike a bit of fear in the hearts of Pacers fans.

Injuries

Turner is going through warm-ups, which makes me think he'll give it a go.
